  • Apr. 16th, 2009 at 4:13 PM

EAMO took these lovely photos for me! I was
in Empty Mag not too long ago.

Erotic Ripe Apples featurette :

All pillowed up! I was asked to be a part of a calender
full of portraits of Australia's male comic
artists (drawn by adoring girl-artist fans).

I probably would have tried to wrestle any
other girl down if they had of beaten me
to doing Ben's portrait.

I took my sweet time getting my submission
in to David Blumenstein (coordinator and creator
of Nakedfella productions), so I am pretty
happy he was like "it's all good! just get it in
today or I'll kill you."

I'm really happy with how this came out.
The calender will be available soon. I think
he's selling it at the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

And is anyone else having the same problem...?

I was recently in an exhibition at nine lives (beautiful gallery omg).
Photos below.. not sure who took them, but their signature is in the
corner. Beautiful work anyways!

Hot Dog Millionaire

  • Apr. 10th, 2009 at 1:35 PM

First off, I found this adorable video on YouTube while
searching for 'angry toddlers' and 'overexcited children'.
How funny can those kinds of kids be? What a joy!

So anyway, I ended up finding these cuties. Her attitude
is so tough. I wish I looked like her. Cuuuute!

Caketrain Journal & Press recently released a book by
the gorgeous writer Tina May Hall. My illustration of
Holly Throsby adorns the cover, which I am really flattered
by. See more here : http://www.caketrain.org

I am now selling A1 size (594 x 841 mm ) sheets of gift wrap paper (or
could be used as a poster). Frankie magazine printed these first
to go in Issue 26 as a part of the gift wrap insert. Beci Orpin,
Jodee Knowles and Catherine Campbell were the 3 other artists in
the pack.

Frankie kindly printed off a whole bunch just for me! So now I am
able to share them with you!

An Horse

  • Mar. 30th, 2009 at 4:51 PM

When I was in highschool, I listened to a
record that was put together by Book Club
Records from Brisbane.

One of my favourites was Kate and she
wrote a song about a caravan. I later went
on to find out she played in a band called
Iron On. And then she also had a solo project
called An Horse.

When I lived in Brisbane, she worked at a record
store and i meant to tell her how much i loved
her work. But being me.. if you're famous - i'm shy.

And then, i found out she played on the David
Letterman show on March 11 of this year.
And when I watched her play, I had tears in my
eyes. Super-emotion has been popular with me
lately. I have alot of it.

So watch her.. and cry too. Because she is
mega beautiful and I'm all feeling nostalgic and
joyous and weepy.

So much luck & love to you, Kate.

I couldn't believe how taken I was when I saw the strength
of this piece. How does he use ink and brush that way?
A truly delicate & tasty mystery. His new site is lookin' soo slick.
Oh and he's my boyfriend. n_n

Screw scanning! Look at how lovely an illustration can
be if you take a photo of it. His nib work (it looks like
nib!) it brilliant. His tattoo work is even greater! I
did a portrait of Jake unknowing to his great work.

that is the creepiest thing i've ever seen.
just the fact that they are toys from all different eras..
and that it the weather & seasons would totally
be eroding these toys that are left out in the cold,
nailed to a tree like Christ when they should be
cradled in the arms of a sleepy, pink-lipped toddler
who's just falling asleep.

the smell would be like an op shop mixed with
clothes that were on the clothesline too long and
created out-of-this-world mildew and fungus.

look at them all! this makes me so sad. this is insane.
i hate how some of them are impaled through the skull
or through the chest.

and to think they were all new once. u_u
all hopeful of going to a good home and being loved
until falling apart. this is so much worse than falling
apart. to me this is such a creepy, cruel way to decorate
ANYTHING. may as well nail a few children up there too.

Got my dot-com on!

Climbing - an illustration for Illustration Friday. I long for snow!!

I'm recreating the artwork from vintage postcards. I've always wanted
to do this sort of thing. I'm happier with the 2nd image.. not so much
this one, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

The portraits are piling up and up! I've been enjoying myself so much

a more illustrative light (alot for the first time too!). To see my
